now for a little hodge-podge

I'm trying to avoid making posts with only one image in them, because then it would make the catching up process darn near impossible. Because of that, not all the images will relate to one another so well, other then the fact I took them all. Sorry about that!

Olivia is a clone of me, and Claire strongly resembles Tim. But she's not an exact duplicate of Tim the way Olivia is with me. But Claire has mannerisms that are just so Tim. I was taking her photo for something else when she made this face to me... a face Tim makes ALL the time. It kinda weirded me out!

I wanted to take an image of a pattern... try to be abstract. (its the speaker to my mp3 player)

Alicia is a client of mine, but I consider her mom a friend. So for Alicia's baby shower, I made her a diaper cake. I love those things!

The next day was Aiden and Nikos session. Olivia came along, and behaved very nicely. I tried to get a shot like this with Aiden, but he was far more interested in putting his face in the water LOL!

Kristina and Mark, sneak peek #1

I put #1 because I'm sure I'll have another. So I was invited along to Kristina and Marks wedding this Saturday. I was not their photographer, but Kristina's mom said she'd love for me to take some images while I was there (which of course I jumped on.) Because I wasn't really there as the photographer, I never got one on one time with the bride and groom, which was a bit of a bummer, but I did get to pull aside some people and play around. Donna, I hope you love what you see!

My fav image from in the church... I just love how the light hits Kristina's dress... so yummy

Hanna, my sister Haleys best friend, is the sister of the bride, and was one of the many bridesmaids. I stole her and shot a ton of images of her. I joked with her mom that you would have thought she was the one getting married.

Even though I wasn't the main photographer, I had a lot of fun! Thank you Kristina and Mark for letting me come along!

Happy Birthday Little Girl!!

Firstly, June 4th I apparently decided to take a photo of lunch. Yeah don't ask, because I can't remember why. My guess, I was busy. Or I thought lunch that day was tasty. Who knows.

But on June 5th, Olivia turned three years old! What a big girl! Since her party was coming up in a couple days, and we figured she'd overdose on cake then, we didn't want to do some giant cake. But we did want her to practice candles (which at the party she did very well with!) No the candles we got weren't giant, the cupcakes were just teeny tiny. And quite tasty, for the two bucks :) Olivia was a little freaked out by the candles, but she at least blew some air out (nothing that actually blew out the candles, but hey we're working on it)

Its all in the details

Amber made most all of the decorations for the wedding herself. I loved it, and found it pretty and creative. The kids tables centerpiece was probably my favorite detail of the night (though I did have a soft spot for the centerpieces on the rest of the tables, given I had a hand in them)

Amber and Brian went with cupcakes, rather then a tiered cake. The frosting was edged with this pretty sparkly sugar - just so pretty! And they tasted fantastic!

My favorite images are coming up next, so stay tuned!

the best of the rest

Alright now, I've tried to upload these pictures now for a full day, and of course my computer is acting a little crazy... perhaps the holidays are getting to it as well?

But anyways, the rest of the photos from Claires party.

Before I got the speedlight out, Tim took some pictures... and I made my appearance. Claire looks so confused by the cake!

The most common way Claire ate her cake: no hands. She actually never really even got into the cake - more just ate the icing.

Some pictures of Olivia, since she is quite lacking in the blog. She also ate her cake icing first - but she finished her whole piece. Oh and its my mom trying desperately to lean out of the picture. Lesson to everyone who hates being photographed: You thinking you look bad in pictures is all in your head. You don't. You look bad when you try desperately to get out of the shot. Everyone is most critical of themselves in a photo. You look fine. Trust me.

And one last extreme close-up of Claire. She's so cute!

Sorry for the lack of posts! The holidays are always a little crazy for me... with the working and the baking and the gift making (yeah I'm one of those people.)

We had Claires first birthday party, so it's official - she's one. She didn't dive into the cake like I thought she would... mainly just licked the icing off the top. Though her eating style was precious... hands out, face directly into cake. I only have one picture ready to show... I'll show more here either tonight or tomorrow. She's so happy!

Little M turned one!

Miss Maisley is my husbands cousins daughter (...a friends sisters aunts cousin who knows a guy...) She's almost two months older than my youngest daughter, and quite a cutie! I just went to the party to have fun, but managed to take a couple pictures of Maisley with her cake. She was quite dainty - that last picture is about as messy as she got. Wish my girls were that neat!!
