Man I wish my kids wore clothes...

Some day, when they are old enough, those girls are going to want to kill me for doing this project, and showing off the pictures. And I'll tell them, 'You were the ones who wanted to be naked all the time'
Lots of Olivia...

Just hanging around the house

...watching TV and playing on the computer. Good Times.

Yes Claire has worn the same thing in every photo. No it doesn't mean they were all taken on the same day. It just means Tootie and Candy Canes (the old 'it' outfit) has been replaced by 'Dora Shirt' (a nightgown of Olivia's that is 4 sizes too big for Claire) Although she does ask to be put in Tootie and Candy Canes still... its just Dora is winning.

bath crayons: good and bad

So my actual new years resolution that has nothing to do with photography, was to bathe the girls at a minimum of two times a week. It doesn't sound like much, but I'll be honest - we can go almost a month between baths. We still scrub the girls down every night with washclothes (or babywipes...) but the girls throw fits in the bathtub. Aunt Wendy gave the girls bath crayons, and Olivia loves them. Claire loves them too... as long as she's using them from outside of the tub (which is against the rules in this house) Obviously, I must have forgotten to put the crayons away after last nights bath, because Claire walked up to me with blue all over her face. Olivia was just puzzling away.

They switched places

Claire was bugging me, so I took her picture. Olivia, well, I asked her if I could take a picture, and a tantrum ensued.

002 Olivia now not liking the project

I haven't decided which picture of Claire I like better, so for now, here's both

A new year, a new project

So last years 365 day project had only one rule: no on board flash. But I could photograph anything I wanted.

This year, I'm adding a challenge to myself - I must photograph the girls. Still no on board flash, and the girls can be doing anything - but the photo should be of the girls.

Olivia is excited by the project

Claire is not

Three hundred and sixty five days ago...

... I thought this project would be easy

... I concidered myself an awesome photographer with little to learn

Three hundred and sixty five days later I have learned...

... that every time I take an image, I improve

... that I can see a project of this magnitude to completion

... that a small mishap like missing a day won't completely deter me

... that I love photography

I started this project on January 1st, 2009 with this self portrait.

and it comes to a close today, now officially January 1st, 2010 (image taken on the 31st)

365 of 365: a new year
365

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project. Today starts my new 365 day challenge... yes I'm going to do it all over again. If I grew this much over one year, imagine what could happen with another.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
