Their Golden Year

I'm so far behind on posting, it is almost rediculous (Tim pointed out that I have less then 10 blogs posted for the month of August, which really is pretty lame - I'm so sorry!)

But I had to include Mema and Pa's anniversary in the month their anniversary is in. So without a single day to spare - Happy 50th Anniversary Dick and Thelma! Here's my favs from the day...
We ate at Woodys, and the food was excellent!

Can you see the foul language on those M&M's! Completely innappropriate! Oh wait, that's Pa's first name you say? Oh, well then I guess you have to call customer service to convince them that his name isn't lewd and it's ok to have it printed (I won't have that kind of language in my home, so I made sure to eat all my M&Ms before getting back!)

Kristins sneak peek! {columbus seniors photographer: Purple Platypus Pictures}

I met up with Kristin on Saturday for her senior portraits. This was the third time I've photographed her, and she's always fun to work with. Kristin actually got to be the first person to be photographed in my studio, so thank you for letting me experiment on you! Here's some of my favs (though there's many more!) Hope you enjoy them Kristin!

Claire got a haircut!

I think every mom struggles when it comes time to have their childs first haircut. Or maybe I just do, since my kids were baldies. But in any case, Claire was getting quite.... mullet-like. Very Joe Dirt. So we got her hair cut today. And even though I'm not caught up on the 365 on here (again) I'm going to show today's anyways, because its awesome.

We went to a place called Cookie Cutters. If you have small children, and have one near you, it is so worth it to use them! Cool chairs, televisions at every chair, and a treehouse in the waiting room. Definetly a kids dream! Claire picked the 'hairplane' chair. Her hairdresser proceeded to spray Claire down.

And then she got out the scissors, and I got the best picture ever. Keep in mind, Claire is silent. No yelling, no crying, no screaming (ever the whole time!) but when she gets surprised or excited by something, she drops her mouth open real big. I think the cold scissors on her neck had surprised her.

But she went on the rest of the haircut pretty uneventfully. Olivia played in the treehouse, and Claire just happily sat and watched Go Diego Go!

She even let the lady blowdry her hair! Maybe Claire is more of a prissy girl then we give her credit for (Olivia of course hid in the treehouse the second the blowdryer came on)

And she's all done! Pretty little lady... no more Joe Dirt!

a couple for Jeremy {Central Ohio Seniors photographer}

I'm leaving for Cleveland in a few hours for some training for my other job. Since I don't have a laptop, that means there won't be any blogs for at least 3 days. Bummer. Yesterday though, I did Jeremy's senior session. If you remember, Jeremy is who helped build my studio, and I owe him greatly for it. I just hope this helps repay him a little ;) So while I'm far far far from done on his session, here's a few to see for now.

What pretty eyes you have {Columbus Ohio childrens photographer}

I'm still going through all my images from my big photo weekend, but I'm just loving Maisley's eyes. I had to show them off early. Which do you like better, color or black and white? Let me know!

back to that accident

So I knew last Monday that the accident report must have been filed, because my phone rang off the hook for 5 hours straight. It was rediculous... at times both my home phone AND my cell phone would be ringing. I stopped answering my phone completely that day. My favorite caller ID though...

I want that guy to handle ... well whatever he handles.

I was excited the next day when half of my new packaging materials came. I have to thank Holly profusely for pointing me in a good direction (envelopes... pretty colors!)

Wednesday we went and got me a new car. Well new to us (its an 06 Accord) Tim made fun of me slightly for getting the slightly bigger car in the exact same color as my old car (so its really easy to think we didn't get a new one) but I loved my car and see no reason to deviate from that which I love.

Beautiful new mommy! {Columbus Ohio maternity photographer}

It was a big weekend for me photography wise, and it ended with this beautiful new mommy-to-be. I've photographed Alicia before with the rest of her family (see it here) so we had a nice relaxed time at Blendon Woods. She's not due until October, but the girl has one big baby in there! She looks awesome! Thanks Alicia for letting me photograph you!

Ohio State Fair 2009

I know, I'm behind again... and I'm sorry for it! But I have some great stuff to show, and I'm very excited about it!

But until they're ready....

We went to the Ohio State Fair last Sunday. Saturday night, both Tim and I spent forever trying to get our wagon into the trunk of the rental car. Turns out that while the car (and its trunk) is significantly bigger then our totaled '03 Civic, the opening to the trunk is very very teeny tiny. Funny that our even smaller '95 Civic fit the wagon almost comfortably.

Tim and I joked that we would have to carshop with the wagon, just to make sure it fit in our next vehicle.

Sunday was Fair day, and I was pretty excited. The girls love animals, so I figured it would be a hit. Olivia's on this big kick of pointing out flags to us (stems from the Fourth of July) So like every car ride, on the ride there, Olivia yells out every time she sees a flag. And when we walk in, she's pointing out all the flags. Then she see's this...

and she literally sighs and says "Mommy, there's just so many flags"

But we loved the animals... the baby cow and the sheep were big hits. We had a few melt downs, but not too many.

Olivia managed to completely surprise Tim and I. She tends to be very tentative about new things. She talks a big talk, but when it comes to actually doing the new things, she tends to back down. So we walked past the pony ride. I always feel bad for those ponies... five little things tied up to a circle, not able to go anywhere... just bums me out. But I wanted Olivia to see the ponies, because she's really into horses lately. So she runs up to the ponies and yells "I GET ON NOOOOW!" I think she saw the saddles and knew she could ride them. We figured, what the hey, it's only three dollars, might as well give it a try. Buy the ticket, give it to Olivia, tell her to go to the man manning the gate. She runs off without us, gives the man the ticket. He plops her on a horse, tells her to hang on, and then walks away. And she rides!
