here we go a coloring...

So the Friday before Easter, we colored eggs. And it went really really well! I completely attribute that to Haley and Aunt Sue coming over. For some reason, when its just me and the girls, I have a hard time getting the girls to understand what I'm trying to get them to do (like color Easter eggs.) But Olivia idolizes Haley, and will do anything and everything that girls does (coincidentally, like color Easter eggs.)

So here was the set-up... I was at the end of the table, between Claire and Olivia... Olivia spent the entire time on Haley's lap, completely enthralled with every move she made... Claire played with her new pinwheel (good call Aunt Sue!) and a yellow egg that we let her beat the hell out of... and Aunt Sue and I Ooooo'd and Aaahhhhh'd every new egg.

And the best egg, that was as we called, the mystery messed up egg, because the cup of coloring we used had many capsules of color, only some of which actually disolved. It was such a cool egg, that I made it my day 100!

Playing a little catch-up here. This doesn't catch me up to today, but it at least catches me up some before dinner.

Holly got me a great pair of shoes for my pullip, and added the cutest detail. Look at the little platypi!!

Yes, even the little princess has her moments. She's had a lot lately

They've the first thing I planted when we moved here, and for the first year since planting it, it seems to be growing. YAY!

Olivia can stack a tower ten high! Granted, a week later Jeremy stacked one 35 high, but he's also six foot four... I think ten is impressive for the under three foot crowd ;)

so...far...behind....

It's so not my fault this time on why I'm so far behind!! This week, Jeremy and I are completely overhauling my basement, and making it into my super fantastic studio. Jeremy is unlike any teenage boy I know... showing up at my house at 8am, actually finishing work he starts, never complaining... its unreal really.

But, because of his wonderful work ethic... I'm left exhausted at the end of the day. Today was the first day I uploaded my camera in over a week!! I KNOW!! So, I decided I had to upload the camera before bed tonight, and at least edit one to show. I picked one from Easter. We went all over the world on Easter (ok, so my parents house, and Tims parents house.) At the egg hunt at Tims parents house, Claire partnered up with Tims Grandpa while hunting. It was so dang adorable. The oldest with the youngest. And I think the both of them had a blast!

There's lots of great photos from both houses, so hopefully I'll get a break from building to be able to work on them (plus there's all those basement photos to show!)

My nephew, and why I'm walking

On April 26th, I'm walking 5 miles for the March of Dimes. I've supported the March of Dimes for years... I think it started when I started working at FedEx, since they were a sponser of the organization, and had fliers around about the cause. I kept it up when my nephew was born.

Niko was born very premature. Under 30 weeks (I tend to confuse the actual week... I want to say 27 weeks, but I could very well be wrong on that)... He was a pound and an ounce or so, and only 11 inches long. About the size of a Grande Beef Burrito at Taco Bell. I believe this photo was taken when he was only a few days old, and he's holding onto his fathers hand.

If you would like to sponser me in my walk, go to http://www.marchforbabies.org/h1908700 and the page will prompt you on how you can support me.

Abby and Scott

Happy Easter! I'll have Easter photos for here soon, but I promised Abby and Scott I would put up more photos from their session. So, here's my favs of them together. They crack me up, non-stop!

One good for family

And I think I'm going to become known as the photographer who does jumping shots. I love taking those kinds of images... and Scott can jump high man!

Easter beauties

I love that Olivia will kiss Claire if you ask her to. She'll hug her too, but Olivia's hugs involve her crouching down and leaning her head into you... not very photogenic.

Coons Candy

I can't very well go to Upper without posting a little bit about it.

So to get to Upper, you drive north just until WNCI cuts out, and you're there. It's about an hour from my house. I love Upper. Both my dad and my stepmom grew up there. I visited there frequently as a kid. I got married there. It just holds a lot of fond memories for me, and is a place I always held as an ideal place to raise a family. Even though Upper is a really small town, I still tend to get lost there. I think I inherited Aunt Sues sense of direction.

So, since I was going to Upper to take photos of Abby, I wanted my 365 photo to be taken there as well. I knew right away what I wanted to shoot to. If it had been December, you better believe it would have been the gingerbread house (there's this house that looks like a normal house any other time of year, but in December they deck it out with cardboard candies that make it look like a gingerbread house.... I love that house) but seeing as it's April, I went with Coons Candy.

Aunt Sue used to take my sister and I to Coons Candy whenever we would go to my grandmas house. I would always get Mint Chocolate Fudge. Jessica would shake it up (typically it was something rasberry.) I remember my biggest complaint was that Coons was never open on my birthday. My birthday is in August... Coons had no air conditioning, and was closed from the months of July to September. Biggest bummer ever.

They eventually moved to a larger, air conditioned facility, which is part of the reason why going there now isn't the same for me. But the old building is still there... with the giant wooden racoon up front. I left Mema's so late, the sun had almost set before I got to Coons to take my photos!
